An overview of CARTEC milestones:

1990

Company founded by Roland Fuchs.

1991

CARTEC is a pioneer in the branch with the ProKuR plastic repair system: Appropriate courses in professional painting schools all over Germany.

1993

Market launch of ProKuR Rapid for priming uncoated plastic parts of all kinds, especially polypropylene. CARTEC is still a market leader in terms of processing reliability and paint adherence.

1998

Automechanika Frankfurt: Market launch of the CARTEC Smart Repair Systems and first presentation of the WheelDoctor for professional refurbishment of kerb damage on alloy wheels. Great response from the experts.

2004

Publication of the CARTEC limit value catalogue for safe alloy wheel refurbishment.

2006

Contract from Audi to refurbish factory rims according to the CARTEC limit value catalogue. The manufacturer then had these subjected to intensive testing at TÜV Süd Automotive.

2008

The WheelDoctor was presented at the Automechanika for the first time with TÜV certificate and as a complete system.

2009

Launching of the WheelDoctor WD 500-EX II 3D. Unique aluminium dust extraction system for safe elimination of explosive aluminium dusts in alloy wheel refurbishment.

2010

The CARTEC limit values for alloy wheel refurbishment are taken over by car manufacturers. They also comply with the Motor Vehicle Technical Committee (FKT) paper of 05/11/2010.

2011

Expansion of the CARTEC Training Center due to great interest in the WheelDoctor as well as the other systems and the resulting training requirements of the certified partner companies.

2012

Presentation of the Clear Up system for headlamp refurbishment.

2013

Further development of the WheelDoctor and introduction of the “structure pad technology” now enables refurbishment of diamond cut wheels.

Market launch of the HotBox for repairing glued side windows or rusted components in the chassis by means of heat.

2014

With the newly developed WheelBlower product, coated surfaces of alloy wheels and plastic parts, e.g. cooler grilles can be matted faster, easier and, above all, more effectively before painting.

At the Automechanika 2014, CARTEC presents the Wheel Master System, a product family that allows complete wheel refurbishment - washing, repairing, grinding and painting - without problems.

2015

CARTEC celebrate their 25th anniversary.

2016

At the Automechanika, CARTEC presents another new component of the WheelMaster system - the WheelWorker with which alloy wheel refurbishment, especially for diamond cut wheels, becomes faster and therefore more profitable.

2018

The WheelDoctor celebrates its 20th birthday.

Roland Fuchs appoints his eldest son, Daniel Fuchs, as a member of the executive and initiates the generation change at CARTEC.
